Last night I could not fall asleep. I'm not sure completely why...probably partly because without realizing it I'd gotten my heart set on doing something the weekend after Labor Day, and it doesn't look like it's going to work out, so I was really bummed and sad about that. But I don't think that's what kept me tossing and turning until almost 2am! When you have to get up around 5, that's not a lot of sleep AT ALL. :(

After work (aka school since I teach), I had to go to Duane Reade and pick up some toilet paper and sunscreen. Weird combo I know, but one I needed ASAP in the apartment and the other will be a necessity for the Pride March on Sunday. Walked from the bus stop - about 3 Brooklyn (read: LONG) blocks over - and then to the apartment from the store - about 5 Brooklyn blocks down and 2 over - and was really warm when I got in. I knew I needed to chill and get something resembling a healthy snack in me before I tried to do anything.

Looked at the time a little while ago and realized that I am still really tired and I do need to be in bed (or try to be) by 8pm. And if I tried to Shred now, I'd get myself too revved up and not be able to sleep. So...my taking care of me decision is to get myself ready for bed and relax then get in bed by 8pm. I'll move my alarm clock up a little and get up to Shred in the morning. Then hopefully I'll Shred in the afternoon too.

There are just some things you need to do to take care of yourself - like listening to your body. Mine is saying rest/sleep is a priority at the moment.

And listening is a very good thing. Especially because I know tomorrow I'll be listening to it say it's ready to work.
