Oops...I forgot to post last week.

2 weeks ago:

water - 48.5%
bone density - 6.5%

This week:
weight - 172.8
body fat - 34.7%
water - 47.7%
bone density - 6.4%
BMI - 27.8

Friday means weigh-in!!

Last week:

water - 48.5%
bone density - 6.5%

WOOHOO!!!!! 21 pounds since I started this journey for real in April!!!!! SOOOOOO pumped!!!!

About 35-40ish to go depending on how I look and feel when I hit the top end of my "ideal" weight.

I upped the sleep a bit this week. Let's see the results shall we?

Last week:
weight - 185.8
body fat - 34.6%
water - 47.7%
bone density - 6.6%
BMI - 29.9

This week:
weight - 183.6
body fat - 34.3%
water - 47.9%
bone density - 6.6%
BMI - 29.5

So woo! Mini-plateau appears busted. Also lost half an inch off my waist and an inch off my hips!

AND!!!! I'm no longer "obese" per the BMI scale! I'm merely overweight!! :) Yay!!!!

I know...I have the best of intentions to write more. :( I'll try to do better!!

Anyhoodles... It's weigh-in day!!

Per my scale...

Last week:
weight - 186.8
body fat - 34.6%
water - 47.7%
bone density - 6.6%
BMI - 30.0

This week:
weight - 185.8
body fat - 34.6%
water - 47.7%
bone density - 6.6%
BMI - 29.9

Woohoo! Loss! I'll take a pound. :) Definitely going to work on the amount of sleep - I really have noticed when I get more sleep (like 7-8 hours a night) I lose more weight!

Another Friday morning, another date with the scale. Let's see how I did.

Last Week:
weight - 187
body fat - 34.8%
water - 47.6%
bone density - 6.6%
BMI - 30.0

This Week:
weight - 186.8
body fat - 34.6%
water - 47.7%
bone density - 6.6%
BMI - 30.0

So minimal loss, but I did do measurements and I've lost an inch off of my waist and an inch odd of my hips. I can tell that changes are going on - my fat on my stomach area is in that lovely lumpy looser stage - and in the upper abs especially I can see some definition under the lumpy looser fat. So that's progress.

I do know I haven't been getting 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Must work on improving that.

Onward to the next week!

I am learning it really is true - if you write down everything that goes into your mouth, you're more likely to lose weight! Loving myfitnesspal.com!! It makes it SO easy to keep track of your calories!! Both the ones you burn through exercise and the ones you take in through eating.

The numbers speak for themselves.

Last week:
weight - 191.6
body fat - 35.3%
water - 47.1%
bone density - 6.6%
BMI - 30.8

This week:
weight - 187
body fat - 34.8%
water - 47.6%
bone density - 6.6%
BMI - 30.0

AND might I add that lovely girlie times started yesterday!! So clearly something's working!! Yay!!

Lots more to report on later!!! Stay tuned!!!

So it's been a week of logging my calories and exercise on MyFitnessPal. I've met some new buddies, and I've learned a lot. Like how it really does hold you accountable and make you think twice when you're logging in everything you eat. There were choices I made because I knew I didn't have the calories to spare - that's something that wouldn't have happened before.

I gotta say, when you hear it on The Biggest Loser - "The ones who log what they eat are the ones who will lose the most" - it's easy to think "Yeah, but you're also doing nothing but working out..." and sort of brush it off. But it's really true. The results speak for themselves...

Last week's numbers:
weight - 195.6
body fat - 35.7%
water - 46.7%
bone density - 6.7%
BMI - 31.4

Today's numbers:
weight - 191.6
body fat - 35.3%
water - 47.1%
bone density - 6.6%
BMI - 30.8

Woohoo!!! I am 0.9 away from sliding into the merely "overweight" category with my BMI. For me that'll be a HUGE milestone!!!

Onward and downward!!
losingit: (scale)
It would be really easy to not be honest with the weight thing. After all, you guys are just reading this and I'm not at some meeting or something.

But easy isn't going to get me healthy. When I started this, I said I'd be honest about things. And I have been. No reason that's going to change now. Especially with the mentioned-in-a-previous-post physical (at least I think it was) coming up in October.

It's time to get real and get my ass back in gear.

My numbers for today:
weight - 195.6
body fat - 35.7%
water - 46.7%
bone density - 6.7%
BMI - 31.4

So yes...that's up about 10 pounds from my lowest. I'm not a happy camper, but I know it's all on me. I lost it before, I can lose it (and more) again. I just have to buckle down and DO IT!

On a positive note, my water and bone density are in the "normal" range. Now to just get the rest of the things into the normal range.

I'm determined. I can do this and I will!!

And here is my ticker!!! (I bopped the starting weight back to 200, which is about where I was when I got serious about it all.)

Finally a loss! :)

Last week: 187
This week: 184.5

So technically back to my lowest point from before I was bad and slacked off. Now to just keep on losing!!!
losingit: (Default)
I'm not sure if I should still be counting, but oh well. I will.

It's one of my "off" days from C25K, so I opted to do the 30 Day Shred today. Got through it fine. Definitely still a challenge. But yay!

Weigh-in this morning wasn't great. Up to 187. Though really? As bad as I've been it could have been much worse!! I have to admit, though, I was a little afraid to put it in the weight tracker on jillianmichaels.com. I didn't know if a voice was going to start screaming at me from my computer when I hit enter or what. But I was pleasantly surprised. A nice little "Ok, so you slipped up a little. Just resolve to do better." message. :) And I am already working at doing that.

Ok, so it's Tuesday. Time for the weigh-in...

And the results are...

Last week: 186
This week: 185

I'm ok with that. Its a loss, and considering the three meals out last week and the lack of Shredding for 3 days (including yesterday), I'll definitely take a pound's loss. Hopefully this next week - sticking closer to the eating plan AND working out each day - I'll see a bigger loss.

Also? The Shredding this morning didn't happen. I was asleep almost as soon as I turned out the lights at 8pm and woke up around 5:30am. CRAZINESS!!! So I'll just have yesterdat as a missed day as well. But I'll Shred as soon as I get home. (Then I have to go get more peanut butter for my new favorite Banana Breakfast Shake from Jillian's menu!!)
losingit: (Default)
I've been working on being better about my food. Yesterday I made up my weekly menu on Jillian's site and then went to Trader Joe's. I ended up getting stuff for the breakfasts and lunches on my menu and some cereal bars that I'll probably use for lunch. Calorie count comes out around the same. The lunch things will be dinner. They're sandwich and wrap type things, which will be much lighter in the summer - cooking in an already warm NYC apartment isn't really fun. (Window units for AC only go so far.)

Tonight I opted to do breakfast for dinner and made the banana breakfast shake.

YUMMY!!!! Definitely see myself making that a staple in my menus!!

Oh...and no, you didn't miss a weigh-in. I figured since I started Jillian's program on Tuesday, I'd just shift my weigh-in to Tuesday. So we'll see what happens in a couple of days! :)

I did actually do my weigh-in this morning, but I was running late and couldn't post it then.

Last week: 186.5

This week: 186

So half a pound. But it's a loss!

I'm more pumped that I know I've lost 4 inches off my chest, which definitely makes me feel like I'm making progress.

Of course then I was unable to resist snacks at the workshop I attended today, so...blah.

I have decided that on the 15th (aka payday) I am getting a notebook that shall be my food notebook where I will write down every little thing that goes into my mouth. I suspect I'm eating more than I'm admitting to myself. So putting it down on paper will help. I hope.

Tis the day to weigh in... And so...

Last week: 188
This week: 186.5

So yay! A pound and a half loss!! That's the way I like the scales to go!!

But but but!!! So I was texting with a friend yesterday - we're being long-distance weight-loss buddies - and being bummed that even though I've lost weight, my jeans aren't to the point where I needw to get new ones (and no, I was not wearing them really tight). She asked me if I'd tried on any new clothes because she didn't think she had gone down any sizes but she had. Well, at the time it was late, so I couldn't run out to a store, but I pulled out a formal dress I've had since 2005. At the time I managed to get into it with a girdle and extra control-top hose, but since then it's been hard (like even when I tried to sell it on Craig's List I had to take pictures of it on a hanger because I couldn't zip it.

Not only could I zip it, it's actually too big in the bust area!! Like, the only way it was staying up is the "bone" structure of the bodice. It's definitely form-fitting in the waist-to-hips area, but it zipped comfortably. If I had to wear it again, I could do so comfortably with some tailoring in the bust area.

So yay!!!

Also? I now definitely see why they say bras need to be refitted with every 10 pounds of weight lost (or gained). Good thing I've got a fitting scheduled on Sunday huh?

Blech. Not happy. :(

Last week: 186.5
This week: 188

I've been better with my eating this week overall. I've been more diligent about working out. Maybe I can chalk it up to that time of the month? I have no explanation.

Cracking down on food from now on. :(

Yeah...I knew this week was not going to be good. I've really fallen off my eating - I suspect I know why, but that will become evident or not in the next couple of days. Grr being a girl!! Just shows me I need to focus and work even harder on eating well and in the right amounts this time next month!!

Last week: 184.5

This week: 186.5

:( But I'm not going to let it set me back. Just refocus and keep going. I lost it before, I can lost it again.

Yep. It's Thursday, which means time to weigh-in!

Last week's weight: 187.5

Today's weight: 184.5

Weight loss for the week: 3 pounds!!!!!

Total weight loss so far: 14.5 pounds!!!

To get to the top of my "healthy range" I need to lose 35.5 pounds. To give myself a bit of a cushion with that range, I need to lose 45.5 pounds.

Somehow those numbers don't seem AS hugs as they used to. :)

Alright. Today was weigh-in. I knew it wasn't going to be a great week. And it wasn't.

Last week's weight - 188.5
Today's weight - 187.5

So only a pound. BUT looking at it, the day I started the 30 Day Shred (not the first day I posted my weight on here, I weighed 200. So in the 30 days, I've lost 12.5 pounds.

That's a good start, I think! Now to keep on losing!!

Weigh-in

So this morning was my weigh-in.

Here's how it stacked up so far...

4/8 (starting) - 199
4/15 - 194
4/22 - 192
4/29 - 188.5

I'm pretty much alright with that. :) Putting it in perspective, I lost half a pound less than Sunshine on The Biggest Loser from this week's weigh-in. I figure with everything they do there, if I can keep up that close I'm doing pretty well!

So basically? To be at the top of my "healthy" weight range, I've got 40 pounds to go. I'd like to have a little bit of a cushion, so I'm shooting for 50 pounds to go.
