Today, it was tough. One of the speech providers at school brought in cupcakes left over from her daughter's birthday yesterday.

Big, bakery, Red Velvet cupcakes.

Honestly? Having discovered Crumbs Bake Shop (not where these were from or I might not have been as successful in resisting), cupcakes are a weakness of mine.

Especially Red Velvet.

But I was strong. I looked at the size of them, and at the thick bakery icing - with added color and stuff in it - and thought a) about all the preservatives and junk that would be in them and how well I've been doing at cutting that crap out of my diet and b) that most likely one of those cupcakes would probably be close to my allotted caloric intake for a DAY.

And I was strong and resisted!!!

The fact that we had fruit salad today with fresh strawberries, bananas and pineapple did make it easier. I did allow myself a bowl of that. Get some good fruit in.

And trading fruit for big bakery Red Velvet cupcakes gives me hope that my tastes and cravings ARE changing. Hopefully that will hold true when I DO have the extra money for eating out and the possibility of making crappy choices and I'll be able to make the GOOD or at least BETTER choices!!

I was at a workshop today, in a location where there are plenty of option for food. I was a good girl and took my Luna bars and water. All was well...

Until a girl came in with McDonald's food. And oh the smell was sooooo tempting!!

Now, I know how crappy that stuff is for you. I read Master Your Metabolism, plus I know all the facts.

But that doesn't mean it doesn't still smell good to me right now. I'm still training my body on this healthy eating thing. I'm not yet to the point where I smell the gaggy smell of grease rather than food I used to honestly think nothing of eating.

But I held out and held strong. I ate my Luna bars and drank my water. And you know what? I was satisfied!

I'm proud of me!
