My parents live in Nashville, TN. I lived there from age 2 1/2 until 8 1/2 and then for about 4 years after college.
Hopefully you're aware that the first weekend of May, it was hit with what's being termed a 500-year flood. Massive amounts of rain caused flash flooding and then flooding like the Cumberland has rarely done. I remember the flood in 1979, and that had nothing on the pictures I've seen. (I only say "hopefully" because it took a while for it to register on the national news what with the oil spill in the Gulf and the attempted car bombing of Times Square. Some of my co-workers still weren't aware of it yesterday when I reported in that my parents are still fine, the house is confirmed fine and they'd been able to get to their church and see that it's generally fine - their reaction was "What happened? Why wouldn't they be ok?" which made me very sad.)
On Friday, my mom sent me a link to a video on youtube. It's a song that Victoria Banks wrote on her way back to Nashville. It's set to some pictures of the flooding. Please watch it! And if you can, give. Thanks!
